4 New Video Clips From Pixar’s Up By Peter Sciretta/March 27, 2009 10:47 pm EST Disney has released four new videos for Pixar’s Up: two video clips from the film and two behind the scenes featurettes. Watch all four videos after the jump. IGN has a featurette titled “Up: Discovering a Lost World” which takes a look at the struggles that went into recreating a very remote South American jungle which features 90 degree cliff walls a mile high surrounded by fog and filled with weird shaped rocks....

Bootleg Star Trek Movie Trailer By Peter Sciretta/Jan. 18, 2008 3:14 pm EST  The teaser trailer for JJ Abrams’s Star Trek has hit the web in bootleg form. The trailer is exactly like the spy reported last week. Currently attached to Cloverfield, the trailer is likely to hit the interwebs on Monday or Tuesday, so just might want to wait for a high definition non-handicam version. The art includes a lot of different views of the inside and outside of Nero’s Romulan spaceship, some darker views of the planet Vulcan, and a early grittier design of the bridge labeled “Iowa Bridge”, which we assume might be the Starfleet Academy test bridge where Kirk cheats on the Kobayashi Maru....

Leo Lewis calls the film: “a solid, occasionally spectacular set-piece that struggles unsuccessfully to give us thrills and fun we have not already had in previous installments.” That doesn’t sound very positive, does it? George Lucas Plans To Build Digital Film Production Studio In Northern California By Peter Sciretta/May 7, 2009 2:15 pm EST George Lucas wants to build a new state of the art digital film production studio in Northern California. Lucas has asked Marin County to consider plans to build a 262,728-square-foot building that would house a maxim of 340 employees at the former Grady Ranch in Lucas Valley. Thomas Forster, the former director of operations for Skywalker Properties, says that the new building would “gives us that we don’t currently have in Marin is a digital production space for actual shooting, a few large rooms to do digital blue or green screen work....

Howard Shore To Score The Twilight Saga: Eclipse By Russ Fischer/Jan. 25, 2010 10:32 am EST Say what you will about the Twilight films, but as they go along and prove to be financially successful, they’re able to attract high-profile creative talent. If nothing else, I’m happy to see these films as paycheck gigs for people like Howard Shore, who is now the composer for Eclipse, directed by David Slade. Not that Shore really needs a paycheck gig, I suppose, but I’m happy to see his name in a credits list....

He’ll join Michael Douglas, who returns as Gordon Gekko, and Shia LaBeouf, who plays a young trader who is engaged to marry Gekko’s daughter. If Finke’s sources are correct, that will nearly solidify the primary lineup of this sequel with only Gekko’s daughter left to cast....

But he hasn’t done it by making them act, so there’s a little give and take in that statement. He even circles around an admission that his movies aren’t for actors with another statement to the WSJ. I’ve been talking to some big actors right now about something that is totally different....
