YouTube Dives Into Movie Rentals, Offering Five Sundance Films By Devindra Hardawar/Jan. 21, 2010 12:44 am EST We knew that video rentals were coming to YouTube at some point. Back in September, we reported that YouTube was chatting with movie studios about renting films. Now it seems they’re going to dabble in renting some independent films before they move on to big studio fair. On their blog today, YouTube announced that they will be making five Sundance 2009 and 2010 films films available for rent from this Friday until Sunday, January 31....

MovieTickets.com reports that as of 4:15 p.m. ET, the movie has accounted for 77 percent of its total tickets sold today. And the total volume of Indiana Jones tickets sold at MovieTickets....

Hollywood Unable To Watch The Golden Globes Live? By Peter Sciretta/Jan. 11, 2009 3:13 pm EST If you didn’t know, the 66th Annual Golden Globes will be air tonight on NBC from 8-11pm eastern time. The award show is being broadcast live from The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California but oddly enough, the Globes won’t air on the west cast until three hours after they happen. I understand that most people won’t even notice, but it seems strange to me that the Hollywood industry types have to read about the winners online or watch the show on a three hour tape delay....
