George Romero’s Diary Of The Dead Movie Poster By Hunter Stephenson/Jan. 20, 2008 4:09 pm EST The offical poster from landmark horror director George Romero’s latest contribution to undead cinema, Diary of the Dead, has stumbled onto the Web. Diary is set for a theatrical release on February 15th, which makes me curious to see how it will perform in light of the similarly themed and wildly successful Cloverfield. Romero’s fifth zombie film will flip the script and focus on the moment zombies started to rise up and create chaos amongst the human populace....

Jennifer Garner To Star In Butter By Peter Sciretta/April 7, 2009 12:02 am EST Jennifer Garner has officially signed on to star in Jason Micallef’s political satire Butter for Mandate. The Nicholl Fellowship-winning screenplay was listed at the #3 spot on the 2008 Black List (a listing of the best unproduced screenplays of that year). Described as Election meets Best in Show, Butter tells the story of a black orphan who is adopted by a Midwestern family, and discovers she has an uncanny talent for butter-carving....

After Paul Blart, which had an exaggerated ratio between financial success and critical disdain, James suddenly became, to some people, the worst thing in movies. Can’t say why, since I haven’t seen Mall Cop (I chose Observe and Report instead) but I wonder if working with Vince Vaughn in Ron Howard’s new film will change anything....

According to Screen Daily, Raimi has given the okay for a 3D theatrical movie based on Evil Dead: The Musical, to be co-directed by the musical’s original director, Christopher Bond, and choreographer, Hinton Battle....

Stephen Chow Not Directing The Green Hornet By Peter Sciretta/Dec. 18, 2008 8:45 pm EST Stephen Chow will no longer be directing Columbia Pictures’ big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet after all. Apparently he has stepped down due to “creative differences”. It’s likely that Chow butted heads with the studio or producers/screenwriters Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Chow is still attached to play the Hornet’s sidekick Kato. The studio is on the search for a new director and still plans to begin production by Spring for the announced June 25th 2010 release date....

John Leguizamo also stars. This teaser gets me excited. I love New York City disaster films. Only problem is that the teaser is playing off too much of New York City going nuts, when I hear most of the film takes place in a greener environment....
