Universal Wants Harold And Kumar Duo To Write American Pie 4 By Peter Sciretta/Feb. 17, 2010 4:52 pm EST Universal Pictures is looking to bring the American Pie franchise back to the big screen, but not as a reboot, but a fourth film in the series featuring the cast of characters from the original trilogy. That’s right — Jim, Stiffler, Nadia, Oz, Michelle, and all the gang. LA Times reports that the studio is in talks with Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the writers behind the Harold and Kumar films, to script American Pie 4....

Bruno Gets Rated R By Peter Sciretta/April 16, 2009 3:21 pm EST Universal has just announced that Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat follow-up Bruno has been given an R-Rating by the MPAA for “pervasive strong and crude sexual content, graphic nudity and language.” . This comes weeks after the initial cut of the movie was branded with the dreaded and unmarketable NC-17 rating. At the time we were told that the filmmakers were “preparing a new edit to try out for an R and winding up an appeal against this initial MPAA decision”, so we’re really not sure which route was taken....

Fandango Rolling Out Movie Tickets On Your Cellphone By Devindra Hardawar/March 15, 2010 11:08 pm EST TechCrunch is reporting that Fandango has begun pushing out a mobile ticket program that will bring movie tickets to your cellphone. Instead of printing out a paper ticket after buying a ticket online, you’ll receive a 2D barcode via a text message, which the ticket-taker will be able to scan. Since the movie theater employees will need special scanners to read the barcodes (pretty much the same scanners you find at Target or Walmart), it will take some time to roll out the service....
