The Academy Award winning actor will make his directorial debut with Bra Boys for Universal and Imagine Entertainment. According to Variety, the movie is a “fact-based drama about a counterculture movement in a surf community in Australia.” Stuart Beattie, who just signed on to write the Gears of War movie, will write a script based on the documentary of the same name, which Crowe also narrated....
Sam Raimi To Produce Supernatural Horror Film Refuge By Peter Sciretta/Sept. 24, 2009 12:20 am EST Sam Raimi (Evil Dead series, Drag Me To Hell) has signed on to produce a supernatural horror film titled Refuge. British screenwriter Tom De Ville will write the script based on a pitch from up-and-coming British director Corin Hardy. At the very least, Hardy’s stop-animation work, is impressive. Very stylized, and likely to draw comparisons to Tim Burton....

This poster image appeared in this weekend’s LA Times Sunday edition (via KungFuVideo). I have heard nothing but incredible things about Gaiman’s work. My only exposure has been Mirrormask, which I’ve been told is not an accurate indication of his work.
