I’ve been waiting for Black to step back into the director’s chair for five years now. His feature directorial debut, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is one of my favorite films of the past decade, mostly due to Black’s incredible script and partly due to Robert Downey Jr’s awesome pre-Iron Man comedic performance....

Sopranos Creator David Chase To Direct Coming-Of-Age Rock Drama By Peter Sciretta/March 8, 2010 2:00 pm EST Mike Flemming has learned that Sopranos creator David Chase is set to go into production on a music-driven coming-of-age rock drama in late summer/early fall. The unititled film will be Chase’s big screen directing debut, and is said to be “about a bunch of guys who form a rock band in the 1960s.” Chase wrote the screenplay himself, and the film will be released by Paramount Pictures’ indie label Paramount Vantage....

Terminator Salvation: Early Concept Art Of The Moto-Terminator By Peter Sciretta/May 1, 2009 12:57 pm EST A few days ago, Flylyf posted some concept art I had never seen before of the Moto-Terminator from McG’s Terminator Salvation. Apparently production designer Martin Laing’s original idea involved a T-800 style endoskeleton robot with motorcycle features. The concept evolved into more of a drone alien-looking bike modeled off of the Ducati Hypermotard 1100. TIFF Review: Jennifer’s Body By Peter Sciretta/Sept. 10, 2009 7:05 pm EST For me, Jennifer’s Body was a lot of fun. The movie feels more like the teen horror films that I grew up with in the 1980’s than the contemporary slashers produced by Platinum Dunes or Dimension Films. Actually, it plays more like a teen comedy than a horror film, and that’s not a bad thing. The laugh to jump ratio is probably 50:1....
