Reviewing this film practically demands that one states his/her personal beliefs—sort of like with Iraq War docs, but, you know, bigger—and judging from two of the first reader reviews on AICN, Maher doesn’t leave much wiggle room: it’s the “you do” or “you don’t” proposition....

Here is the plot synopsis from my early review: Dennis Quaid plays Lawrence Wetherhold, a miserable and pompous college professor who suffers a head trauma while trying to jump the fence at a car impound lot. Star Trek In IMAX By Peter Sciretta/Nov. 24, 2008 1:35 am EST FirstShowing is reporting that JJ Abrams’ Star Trek will be converted for IMAX theaters when it is released on May 8th 2009. But with Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian, also an IMAX release, due only two weeks later, Trek won’t have too much time on the huge screen. And I don’t expect any special features to be announced (for instance, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is expected to have more than 20 minutes in 3D, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen shot some action sequences using IMAX cameras) but Trek might be worth seeing in IMAX regardless....

If somebody dies making a film, chances are it was one of the stunt team or, perhaps more to the point, if there’s anticipated risk of death on a film set, we’re definitely talking about the stunt team....

Well apparently is has gotten shorter. Sci-Fi reports that the current running time is two hours and 35 minutes, and the studio has yet to approve that cut. But fans shouldn’t worry as I wouldn’t expect the film to get that much shorter....
