Rumors have surrounded the project since it was first announced. At one point some reports were claiming that Depp was actually going to play Alice, as the film is supposed to incorporate performance capture....

Sneak Peek: New Terminator Salvation Trailer By Peter Sciretta/March 2, 2009 12:30 am EST Later today, Entertainment Tonight will be premiering a sneak peek at the new Terminator Salvation movie trailer which is attached to Watchmen. But while you’re waiting, ET has aired a sneak preview of that sneak preview which features a bunch of new footage including the Moto-Terminators in action, John Connor battling it out with an T-800 endoskeleton terminator, Connor kissing his wife and fellow resistance leader Kate (Bryce Dallas Howard) and a brief PG-rated glimpse at the now infamous Moon Bloodgood “topless in the rain” scene....

Sunshine Soundtrack Sees The Light Of Day After All By David Chen/Dec. 1, 2008 1:28 pm EST We’ve written a few times about the soundtrack to Danny Boyle’s latest film, Slumdog Millionaire, while simultaneously referencing the fact that the soundtrack to Boyle’s Sunshine has been stuck in legal hell for quite some time now. In 2007, producer Andrew Macdonald said explicitly that there were “no plans to release” the soundtrack. This was a huge shame, as composer John Murphy put some great work into the film, and Underworld also lent some sublime sounds....

In recent weeks the studio has announced a big screen adaptation of the popular arcade video game Space Invaders, a Guy Ritchie-directed Star Wars-like version of Arthur’s Excalibur scripted by Warren Ellis, a big screen remake of the 1960’s television series Gilligans Island from the producer of The Dark Knight, an action/adventure take on Marco Polo directed by I Am Legend helmer Francis Lawrence, and an action/sexified adaptation of The Three Musketeers from the producer of Sherlock Holmes....

The first time I played the game, at Capcom’s editor’s day in early 2008, the game’s filmic influences were obvious. There’s a large dollop of The Rocketeer in there, as well as some Buck Rogers and a general sensibility inherited from ’40s adventure films and serials....

Captain EO To Return To Disneyland? By Peter Sciretta/Sept. 2, 2009 10:38 am EST Miceage is reporting that the Francis Ford Coppola-directed/George Lucas-produced sci-fi action 3D musical short film Captain EO will be returning to Disneyland’s Tomorrowland. Apparently the return of Captain EO will be announced by Jay Rasulo at the D23 Expo, and the film will begin playing again in the Southern California theme park in January 2010, as a tribute to Michael Jackson....

Cool Stuff: LEGO Mindstorm WALL-E Robot By Peter Sciretta/Feb. 11, 2008 9:30 am EST This WALL-E LEGO Mindstorms robot was the winning entry for the NXTLOG Back to School Building Challenge. The completed creation will scan a classroom floor for litter and rubbish, pick them up and put it in its belly and crush them. It uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect rubbish. The most impressive part: the winning team consisted of an adult supervisor, and three kids (aged 7, 11, and 13)....
