We’ve known for a month that the brothers plan to give Jeff Bridges the role of Wayne’s character Rooster Cogburn. The drunk, stubborn, eyepatched character won Wayne an Oscar, and I’m excited to see what Bridges does with it....

Independence Day Stage Production Shows The Movie In Its True Form By David Chen/Jan. 5, 2010 8:30 am EST I wasn’t a huge fan of Michel Gondry’s Be Kind, Rewind, but I loved the film’s take on “sweded” videos, which had amateur filmmakers and actors recreating iconic scenes from beloved films. My absolute favorite one had to be the Terminator 2: Low Budgment Day video, but Gondry actually created a hilarious sweded version of the trailer for his own movie....

Nikki Finke reports that the deal was made after the studio relented and put out a “definitely” richer offer to Favreau. Judd Apatow NOT Producing Ghostbusters 3 By Peter Sciretta/March 4, 2009 12:52 pm EST Earlier this week it was reported that Judd Apatow Productions was the company developing the new Ghostbusters film. Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, assures the LA Times that this isn’t true. We have some great new writers working on a new script, but Judd isn’t involved. Judging from the frenzy on the Internet, there still seems to be plenty of interest in the idea of doing another film, so we’re certainly taking that as a good sign....

Production Weekly is reporting that Ghostbusters 3 is now officially being produced by Judd Apatow Productions. No big shock here, considering the initial rumors had most of the Apatow players cast as the film’s new Ghostbusters. Last we heard, Dan Aykroyd said that Office scribes Lee Eisenberg and Greg Stupnitsky started working on the script this Summer and that they were aiming for a fall 2009 production start....
